August 18, 1963 – December 21, 2025 JonAnn Sawyer Danielson, age 62, of Cottrellville, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on December 21, 2025, surrounded by the family she so deeply loved, following a recent cancer diagnosis. Kahoka Time Capsule to Be Opened July 4, 2026; Community Invited to Contribute to New 2076 Capsule
The time capsule located at Sever Memorial Library in Kahoka is scheduled to be excavated by the City of Kahoka prior to July 4, 2026. The capsule will be turned over to the City of Kahoka and the family of Bettie and Frank Evermon for a public celebration. KAHOKA, Mo. — The Clark County R-1 School Board approved its annual budget June 11 while discussing concerns about state funding, future building needs at Black Hawk Elementary and the district’s Career Ladder program. Superintendent Lyndel Whittle told the board the district will receive $6,875 per student in state funding, though the amount should be $7,145. He said that difference represents about a $290,000 loss for the district. “We’re not going to get the funding we’re supposed to get,” Whittle said while reviewing the end of Missouri’s legislative session.
